The church here in Pisco just celebrated 4 years. We had a great time at the beach with fellowship, bible teaching and baptisms. This has become our annual event and it is a great time to reflect on what the Lord has done of the last few years.

Soup Kitchen Opens

We officially opened our soup kitchen. This soup kitchen will provide 30 meals twice a week to children in our church who are in need. The Lord has provided laborers who truly desire to serve the children. Please pray for God's continued provision and growth of this new ministry.

We just celebrated our three year anniversary as a church. We headed to the beach on Jan 29th where we enjoyed special messages given by Pastor Andres and Coco. Pastor Andres and his wife Carla moved to Peru from Fort Lauderdale about a year ago. He is now pastor of Calvary Chapel Miraflores in Lima. Coco is a dear brother who came with his wife Ruth to celebrate the three year anniversary of the church. He assisted us in the very beginning of the work here in Pisco and now serves the Lord in Cusco, Peru.

We enjoyed a great time of worship, teaching and baptism. It was a blessing to remember all that the Lord has done these passed three years and we look forward to 2011 and the plans He has for His church.

We had our first baby shower for our sister Janet who is due any day now. We had some shower games like "pin the pacifier on the baby" and "guess the size of mommy's belly". The co-ed shower was a further hit when the dad's had to dress, rock, and burb the baby the fastest. It was a wholesome good time for the whole family. We ended the evening with a teaching on Hannah from 1 Samuel and how she prayed to God for a baby since she was barren.

We had a great time at our Night of Life celebration on October 31st.
Instead of spooky houses and scary goblins we taught the kid's the
origins of Halloween through a puppet show. They had a great time
playing games like "Pin the Tail on the Donkey", Ring Toss, Fuz Ball
and car races. We had several parents delighted to see a wholesome
alternative for the whole family. We had about 120 visitors. Glory to
God for the blessing of reaching out to the community in a unique and
fun way.

A team of five came to visit us in San Andres. They are from Calvary Chapel Living Hope. They kid's just loved all of them. They played with the kids and gave out gospel bracelets. This is Los Molinos; a community that developed after the earthquake in 2007. Approximately 5000 people live here in very poor conditions. We went with CC Melbourne, FL to do an outreach. We ministered to the kids through dramas, worship and the gospel message. Several people received the Lord that day. We have been going weekly to minister in the home of a new Christian named Janet. Keep Los Molinos in your prayers as we seek the Lord for His guidance.

We took our first all church mission trip July 8-10 in Huacho. Huacho is about 6 hours from Pisco on the coast. We served along side Calvary Chapel Melbourne, FL, Calvary Chapel Gracia-Lima and Surfers for Christ. It was an exciting time for us as a church since many of our church members don't travel. They took big steps faith to travel outside their community leaving their jobs and families for three days. For many it was their first time sleeping in a hostel, take a hot shower or eat in a restaurant.

The youth performed their skits and dramas and a small group visited an orphanage. We did street evangelism and ministered during the two concerts which CC Melbourne performed. Some served at the new church by cleaning, painting and doing repairs. We grew as a church body as God showed us how He used our different gifts to build up the body of Christ. Many of the young people are considering doing full time missionary work.

Please continue to pray for our spiritual growth and strength as a church.

We have been thoroughly busy since we returned to Peru from the states. We were off and running with Calvary Chapel of Kendall. This youth group kept us on our toes as they transformed our church into a rustic style chapel. They worked a full week doing landscaping, painting, building a swing set and adding a platform to our sanctuary. The addition of gravel to the grounds was a clever idea to keep down the dust and add a little structure to the landscape. The new swing set has been a hit with the kids. We have some pines, ferns and plants which really give it a homey feel. The sanctuary looks awesome with a new platform, varnish on the wood beams and new paint with guard rail. The floor was also painted a neutral gray. The kid's rooms were finished on the interior with an under water ocean scene and the toddlers room to soon be completed with farm animals on the walls. We have been truly blessed by Calvary Chapel Kendall.

In the midst of all the work on the church we had a great time through the worship music and ministry to the kids. They did mimes and games with the gospel message. They also shared their testimonies on how God has changed their lives which encouraged our fellowship. Pastor Jose Casas shared his testimony and a message. This touched the heart of Julio who gave his heart to the Lord. Julio is a husband and father of three teenagers. His wife prayed for him for a few years for her husband to know the Lord and God has answered her prayers.

We are in awe of what God continues to do here in Pisco, Peru. Please continue to keep us and the ministry in your prayers.

Freedom Celebration Peru 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

We thank you so much for praying for the Freedom Celebration on Easter weekend. It was a great blessing in the community. Calvary Chapel Gracia came fully loaded with skits and mimes with a gospel message. We were blessed by their youth ministry and worship team on Easter morning. Calvary Chapel Lima also greatly blessed the city of San Andres with their praise and worship Saturday night. Their contemporary yet spirit filled worship was truly a celebration of God's amazing grace. Calvary Chapel of Downey California made an impression by brining a team of middle school students. We appreciate your prayers as we plan our first mission trip to Huacho Peru. Seeing the teams come to San Andres has put an excitement in the hearts of our brothers and sisters in the fellowship. As they have been blessed, they want to be a blessing. A church plant is scheduled for July 8-10 just north of Lima. Craig and Daisy Tippie are missionaries from Calvary Chapel Melbourne, Florida and are following God's leading to start a work in Huacho. Pray that the Lord would lead us in how we can raise funds to send a team to minister in Huacho. We know it's only by faith in Him who is able.

1 John 1:8 We ought therefore to show hospitality to such men so that we may work together for the truth.

The construction work on the property is still in progress. Please continue to pray for God's leading and provision.

I had some of the youth over to our house to make our childhood favorites...Cupcakes. They had never baked before so it was a new and fun adventure for the girls. Denise and Garys tied the knot on February 15th. They had been together for 10 years and have two children. Denise will be serving in the children's ministry. Pray for God's continued blessing for their spiritual growth in Christ.

We had an awesome time with the team from Calvary Chapel Downey
(Various Ministries). The House of Jeremiah and New Hope are
ministries to those who either have been incarcerated or had drug or
alcohol addictions. Their lives have been transformed by the gospel of
Jesus Christ and they came to Peru to share their testimonies of God's
ability to save and restore lives. They first ministered at the Casa
de Jeremias in Lima. They reached out the the community of La
Victoria, a place rampant with drugs and crime. Next, they ministered
in one of the worst five prisons in the world-San Juan de Lurigancho.
They ended their trip in Pisco where there ministered to the kids and
members of the church as they shared their testimonies. Many the
brothers and sisters were encouraged and amazed to hear their stories.
It gave them hope to persevere in their own walks with Christ.
